shop til you drop: Disney Style

Yesterday, while rummaging through my top dresser drawer, I came across something that is one of my collections of Disney past. Since i've started collecting pins, I forgot about the first Disney collection I began with. The collection that I am talking about is my assortment of Disney Dollars. Now, I don't know about anyone else, but I don't really see these as much as I used to in the parks.I think that they have somewhat gone obsolete for actual spending, and have taken a backseat to collecting, in favor of Disney gift cards. Disney dollars began in 1987, as fives, and later in tens. They were originally purposed for spending in the disney parks, cruise line, The Disney store, and Castaway Cay. There are two different kinds of dollars: the A dollar; for Disneyland, and The D dollar; for Walt Disney World. There was also a T dollar, which was for the Disney store. However, they have since gone defunct. In 2005, Disney produced 50 dollar bills for A and D versions. Over the years, there have been many various characters that have graced the bill's face. The fist was none other than Mickey mouse. Dumbo, tinker Bell, and many others have also made there debut on the bills over the years. So, if your in Mickey's neighborhood, and your low on the dough, just pull out a disney dollar and your good to go.

Oh, I've collected these for years! I never bought more than the $1 denomination, but I usually stop by City Hall on every trip to see if they have any new ones. I need to get them out and see what I have!
