Plaza Swan boats

So, I was browsing some different websites yesterday, I came across an article on the plaza swan boats. Then I thought about how many people knew the history and stories about, as everything disney has a story. The Plaza swan boats were bought to Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom in in may of 1973. They ran in the canal located directly below Cinderella castle. They operated seasonably, most through the peak seasons of the park. The attraction was shut down due to frequent issues with various components of the boats. In the beginning of the attractions run there were twelve boats in total. By the end of the run, there were 5 boats remaining. They were named after various characters from various disney films. They were the Tiger LIlly, TinkerBell, Katrina, Flora, and Maryweather. After the rides closure, the boats sat behind Walt Disney World many years in a back lot. They were sold to a private owner many years year.
